More than 80% of what we perceive in our everyday life comes from our eyesight. Light plays a very important role in enabling us to see. By knowing and understanding that light travels in a straight line and light can be reflected, we are able to understand and explain certain natural phenomena involving light such as the formation of shadow, why we cannot see through a wall and why we feel colder under a tree on a hot day. We also understand how devices that involve light are able to apply the principle of light reflection to design devices that are of practical use.
This helps us to be grateful to God who created light and eyesight. With these, we are able to see.
